Nova Elm Academy (NEA) is dedicated to assisting families in need of financial aid and makes every effort to keep tuition and fees at a very competitive low price. We know that there are still several families in need of financial assistance. We offer Financial Aid to families, but since our Financial Aid funds come only from Zakat and Fund Raising events, then only those families who qualify to receive Zakat can receive Financial Aid.
Through support of generous donors we are able to continue to fulfill Nova Elm Academy’s vision of making quality Islamic spiritual and secular education accessible to as many children in our community as possible.
May Allah (SWT) bless all those generous donors that give out for this great cause.

Families that are experiencing difficulty meeting their full tuition obligation are encouraged to apply for financial aid. To help us objectively assess what a family is able to contribute to education expenses, Nova Elm Academy (NEA) looks at each applicant on a case by case basis to evaluate and assess the needs of each family.
The income and assets of the family are taken into account, as well as the size of the family, age of the parents, the number of children attending tuition charging schools, the state and/or metropolitan area where the family resides, the value of parents’ assets, the investments of the family, and the number of working parents.
Other factors such as TANF and Food Stamps received from the County by the applicant family are taken into consideration as well.

Sources of Funds
- We accept Zakat donations which are used to help Zakat-eligible families with their children’s tuition.
- Zakat funds are only used for tuition assistance to families that meet the Zakat eligibility guidelines.
- Financial awards can range from 10-40% of tuition for eligible families.
- Financial awards are distributed to both full-time and part-time students.
- Zakat eligibility guidelines have been reviewed by the scholars in our community.
- Fund raising events are organized so that Zakat can be collected and used as Financial Aid to qualified students.
- Zakat funds are raised from funding raising events twice a year. Once in Ramadan and once during the first quarter of the school year.
- Nova Elm Academy (NEA) will continue to collect Zakat funds throughout the year.

To be considered for financial aid, families in need must complete a 2019/2020 Financial Aid Form (which can be obtained from the school administration office) and submit it with all supporting documents to Nova Elm Academy (NEA). The school’s Board of Directors will review applications confidentially.
Families who qualify for financial aid will still be responsible for the remainder of the tuition balance for each child. Any change in the financial status of the recipients should be reported in writing to the Nova Elm Academy (NEA) administration. Periodic reviews for changes in financial status may occur at any time.
