NEA aims to develop and education practicing Muslim leaders and scholars of tomorrow. We are striving to achieve academic and spiritual excellence within a healthy learning environment that adheres to Islamic values and practices.

Our Vision

Nova Elm Academy (NEA) aims to establish and build a strong foundation and learning environment for positive interaction and development among the students, parents, faculty members, volunteers and the community at large.

Our Goals

NEA provides Islamic as well as Academic education to youth so they can excel in cultural, academic, and religious knowledge. We are introducing PBL so our students can learn with hands-on implementation of concepts.

Non-Profit Status

Nova Elm Academy (NEA) is a non-profit business located in Sterling, Virginia. The school generally raises funds through school fees, tuition, donations and fundraising events. The funds are used to operate the school, purchase supplies and equipment, pay for operating expenses and pay the salaries of the staff. The remainder of the funds, if any left, is re-invested into the school for future use. Nova Elm Academy (NEA) currently holds 501(c)(3) tax exempt status and any contribution made to the school is tax deductible.

School Governance & Policies

The Board of Directors at Nova Elm Academy (NEA) is responsible for defining the annual goals and objectives of the school, overseeing the general operations of the school, reviewing and approving the school’s budget, overseeing the school administrative activities, and approving the general governing policies of the school. The Board of Directors consists of 5 to 7 members who serve on a voluntary basis for a two-year term. The vacancies on the Board of Directors are filled upon nomination of an individual by a majority vote provided that the candidate is an active community member.

Facilities

Nova Elm Academy (NEA) utilizes all the classrooms on the ground and second floors of the Nova Elm Academy (NEA) headquarters. We have Tahfeez classes, Islamic Studies, and Arabic classes from 1st grade through 10th grade with academic school education focusing on Project-Based Learning (PBL). We make certain that our facilities are clean and safe for our students.
